Our Story

Nestled in Saint John, built for eternity.

Guided by the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 — "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations" — we are a church on fire for Christ, passionately sharing the good news of salvation. At RCCG POR Saint John, you'll encounter the presence of God through heartfelt worship, life-transforming teachings, and a deep sense of belonging.

We believe in God's promise from Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." With this assurance, we invite you to embark on a journey of spiritual growth, healing, and discovery in Christ.

Through uplifting Sunday services, insightful midweek Bible studies, and fervent prayer meetings, we equip individuals and families to walk boldly in their God-given purpose — and we extend that same commitment beyond our walls through outreach, charity, and support services in our community.

Reach

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…" (Matthew 28:19)

Reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ by intentionally sharing God's love, proclaiming salvation, and inviting people into a life-changing relationship with Christ. Every believer is called to participate in making disciples wherever God has placed them.

Mature

"…baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…" (Matthew 28:19)

Help believers grow into spiritual maturity through obedience to Christ, fellowship, prayer, worship, and the study of God's Word. Spiritual growth transforms new believers into faithful followers of Jesus.

Equip

"…teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…" (Matthew 28:20)

Train and empower believers with biblical knowledge, spiritual disciplines, and practical ministry skills so they can confidently live out their faith, disciple others, and fulfill God's calling.

Serve

"…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:20)

Serve God and others faithfully through the power and presence of Christ. Equipped disciples demonstrate Christ's love by using their gifts to build up the Church, meet the needs of others, and advance God's Kingdom in their communities and beyond.

We are committed to the Bible as the Word of God and our final authority for rule and practice. Psalm 19:7-10

We Are a Spirit-Filled Church

We believe that each Christian should develop the fruit of the Spirit and seek to use the gifts of the Spirit for the benefit of others. Ephesians 5:18

We Are a Maturing Church

Our goal is to help people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. 1 John 2:6; Ephesians 4:13

We Are a Praying Church

Our goal is to become a house of prayer for all nations. 1 Thessalonians 5:18; Matthew 21:13

Our goal is to express our devotion to God through joyful praise and intimate worship. Psalm 86:9-10

Our goal is to see every person loved and cared for in such a way that they feel accepted, valued, and have a sense of belonging. John 13:34-35; Romans 13:8; Luke 6:27-36

Our goal is to see every member developing their God-given abilities and using them to serve others. 1 Peter 4:10

We Are an Evangelistic Church

Our goal is to reach out to lost people both near and far and influence our community for righteousness through evangelism, community outreach, and missions. Mark 16:15

Our goal is to present the message of Christ in a way that is meaningful to regular attenders and comprehensible to outsiders. 2 Corinthians 1:12

We Are a Unified Church

Our goal is to bridge racial, cultural, gender, socio-economic, and generational gaps so as to create a community where all people can relate together in a spirit of love and unity. Galatians 3:28

Our goal is to pursue excellence in all aspects of church life in order to bring glory to God. 1 Corinthians 10:31
